Overview

This dynamic two-day conference brings together speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and recreational therapists to foster collaboration, share evidence-based practices, and explore emerging trends in rehabilitative care. Designed to enhance clinical expertise and interprofessional communication, the conference will feature engaging presentations, case-based learning, and poster presentations led by experienced clinicians from all clinical areas across the MedStar National Rehabilitation Network.

Participants will delve into topics such as neurorehabilitation, ICU care, sport rehabilitation, cancer rehabilitation and innovative technologies in therapy. Emphasis will be placed on interdisciplinary care planning and strategies for improving patient outcomes across diverse clinical settings.

By the end of the course, attendees will have strengthened their collaborative skills, expanded their therapeutic toolkit, and gained practical insights to immediately apply in their practice.


Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Describe current evidence-based practice across speech-language pathology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and recreational therapy in a variety of clinical settings.
  2. Describe current evidence-based practice across speech-language pathology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and recreational therapy in a variety of clinical settings.
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of interdisciplinary care planning by applying collaborative strategies to complex case scenarios.
  4. Identify innovative approaches to maximizing clinical outcomes in rehabilitation across the continuum of care.
  5. Integrate interprofessional communication strategies to enhance coordination of care and optimize patient-centered outcomes.
