This dynamic two-day conference brings together speech language pathologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and recreational therapists to foster collaboration, share evidence-based practices, and explore emerging trends in rehabilitative care. Designed to enhance clinical expertise and interprofessional communication, the conference will feature engaging presentations, case-based learning, and poster presentations led by experienced clinicians from all clinical areas across MedStar National Rehabilitation Network.

Participants will delve into topics such as neurorehabilitation, ICU care, sport rehabilitation, cancer rehabilitation, and innovative technologies in therapy. Emphasis will be placed on interdisciplinary care planning and strategies for improving patient outcomes across diverse clinical settings.

By the end of the course, attendees will have strengthened their collaborative skills, expanded their therapeutic toolkit, and gained practical insights to immediately apply in their practice.

This course has been approved by the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for 11.75 contact hours. Course ID# 2025-893 expiring 8/14/2029.

The Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy Practice has reviewed the documentation and will 15.25 contact hours applying to occupational therapy principles and procedures (COMAR 10.46.04.02 (7)(8)) for the completion of this program. The course number is 2025:0087 expiring on 12/31/2025. Courses which are not approved for principles and procedures may still be utilized by the individual licensee toward 4 hours for role related activities for COMAR 10.46.02 (9), at the discretion of the individual therapist.

VA PT Board (VBPT) (https://www.dhp.virginia.gov/PhysicalTherapy/physther_guidelines.htm) – The Virginia Board of Physical Therapy does not pre-approve continuing education courses. Providers approved by other state licensing boards may be considered Type 1 programs as it relates to Virginia Board of Physical Therapy. Virginia Board of Physical Therapy accepts MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network courses because MedStar is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

DC OT Board (https://dchealth.dc.gov/service/licensing-boards) – Only the following types of continuing education programs are exempt from prior review and approval for acceptance in the District of Columbia: All continuing education programs provided directly by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), AOTA Approved Providers, state or local occupational therapy associations, accredited healthcare facilities, and accredited colleges or universities.

VA OT Board (http://www.dhp.virginia.gov/medicine/advisory/ot/ce_faq.asp) – Providers approved by other state licensing boards may be considered Type 1 programs as it relates to Virginia Board of Occupational Therapy: Local, state, or federal government agency; and Health care organization accredited by a national accrediting organization granted authority by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to assure compliance with Medicare conditions of participation; therefore no need to submit to VA OT boards.

DC SLP Board (https://dchealth.dc.gov/service/licensing-boards) – Subject to § 7907.1, the DC SLP Board may grant continuing education credit for programs or activities offered or sponsored by the following organizations: (a) The Speech-Language Hearing Association of the District of Columbia or similar speech-language hearing association of another state; (b) The American Academy of Audiology; (c) The American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and its approved continuing education providers; (d) An accredited provider of The Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education of the American Medical Association offering Category I continuing medical education; (e) The International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and its authorized providers;(f) A health care organization accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO); or (g) The International Hearing Society.

VA SLP Board (http://www.dhp.virginia.gov/Boards/ASLP/PractitionerResources/ContinuingEducation/index.html) Continuing education shall be activities, programs, or courses related to audiology or speech-language pathology, depending on the license held, and offered or approved by one of the following accredited sponsors or organizations sanctioned by the profession: The Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Virginia or a similar state speech-language-hearing association of another state; The American Academy of Audiology; The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; The Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education of the American Medical Association offering Category I continuing medical education; Local, state, or federal government agencies; Colleges and universities; International Association of Continuing Education and Training; or Health care organizations accredited by The Joint Commission or DNV GL Healthcare.
