Overview
This program reviews both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic HIV risk prevention methods.  The program includes discussions on the use of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PreP), Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), and treatment as prevention (TasP) 
Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to:

  1. Describe the epidemiology of HIV in the United States and the District of Columbia
  2. Identify key populations at risk for HIV in the United States and the District of Columbia
  3. Describe the current recommended preventative measures for HIV acquisition
  4. Describe the preventative measures for perinatal HIV transmission
  5. Describe the goals of HIV treatment and the continuum of care

HIV Prevention Basics

This module provides a survey of HIV prevention methods.  The module identifies key populations at risk for the acquisition of the virus.  We will also review the both pharmacological and non-pharmacological HIV risk prevention methods.

3. Complete the activity evaluation.
