Overview

Online registration is now closed.  We will start on-site registration at 7:00 am on Saturday, February 22!

Pancreatic and biliary diseases include a large variety of pathologies, including both benign and malignant diseases, whose diagnosis and management remain a challenge to clinicians. Recent developments and improvements in diagnostic tools and treatment options make this an exciting time for the field. This one-day symposium highlights the full spectrum of multidisciplinary care including advanced imaging, endoscopic approaches, and surgical interventions. We will review the latest advances in molecular profiling as it relates to both pancreatic cancer and pancreatic cysts. The course will also address disorders of the bile duct, including the workup and management of biliary tract cancer and bile duct injuries. Finally, the course will emphasize case-based discussion on a range of disorders including acute and chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic ductal strictures.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the recent guidelines and role of germline genetic testing in patients with pancreatic cancer
  2. Differentiate the role of resection and hepatic transplant for patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma
  3. Identify the range of molecular testing options for pancreatic cyst fluid and their applications to clinical practice
  4. Distinguish the range of benign and malignant disease in the extrahepatic biliary tree
  5. Interpret the benefits and limitations of molecular profiling in pancreatic adenocarcinoma
  6. Define the variety of endoscopic and surgical approaches to ampullary pathologies
  7. Categorize the role of surgical and percutaneous interventions in the management of acute pancreatitis
