Specialties - Dermatology, Medical Oncology, Oncology, Pathology, Plastic Surgery, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Surgery
Professions - Non-Physician, Nurse, Physician, Physician Assistant

Overview
In this interdisciplinary conference, expert faculty will present clinical updates in melanoma and other skin cancer early disease management. This includes novel approaches to melanoma detection. In addition, exciting advances in the treatment of patients with high-risk and metastatic disease will be discussed with a special emphasis on the multidisciplinary approach to the care of patients with melanoma. Other sessions will feature new data on the role of neoadjuvant and adjuvant therapy, new treatments for patients with metastatic disease in both the front line and subsequent lines of therapy, novel cellular and T cell engager therapies, changes in the role of surgery and a debate on the role of adjuvant therapy in patients with Stage II and IIIA melanoma. Interspersed throughout the day will be lectures on the latest approaches to the management of non-melanoma skin cancers and dermatologic toxicities from systemic therapies. Case presentations will address complex and controversial management issues in patients with high-risk and advanced melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer.

Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Analyze and apply new insights in the diagnosis and treatment of melanoma.
  2. Discuss sequencing of immune and targeted therapy vs combinations in patients with BRAF mutant melanoma.
  3. Discuss evolving research and treatment options for patients with disease resistant to IO +/- BRAF/MEK inhibitor therapy.
  4. Discuss the new data with cellular therapy and T cell engagers in the management of patients with advanced melanoma.
  5. Incorporate salvage surgery in selected patients with stage IV disease to enhance long term outcomes.
  6. Recognize the value of multidisciplinary evaluation and assessment, in contributing to more effective and expedited patient treatment.
  7. Describe the approach to management of dermatologic toxicities in patients receiving systemic therapy for melanoma and other skin cancers.
  8. Apply new data on adjuvant and neoadjuvant therapy.
  9. Identify the roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team involved in the collaborative care of patients with melanoma or other skin cancers.
  10. Integrate a team-based approach in the care of patients with melanoma or other skin cancers.
  11. Discuss new data on the approaches to first line treatment for patients with metastatic melanoma and how to choose one treatment over another.
