Overview

Pancreatic and biliary diseases include a large variety of pathologies, including both benign and malignant diseases, whose diagnosis and management remain a challenge to clinicians. Recent developments and improvements in diagnostic tools and treatment options make this an exciting time for the field. This one-day symposium highlights the full spectrum of multidisciplinary care including advanced imaging, endoscopic approaches, and surgical interventions. We will review the latest advances in interventional endoscopic techniques in patients with pancreatic cancer and cholangiocarcinoma, review updated guidelines on screening for pancreatic cancer, discuss the role of ctDNA testing in HPB malignancies, and highlight current multi-disciplinary treatment strategies for treatment of pancreatic cancer. Finally, the course will emphasize case-based panels that will discuss the application of new technologies and approaches in specific patient cases.

Registration is Closed and onsite registration will open on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 7:00AM

Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Explain the recent guidelines and role of germline genetic testing in patients with pancreatic cancer.
  2. Differentiate the role of resection and hepatic transplant for patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma.
  3. Identify the role of ctDNA in diagnosis and management of patients with pancreatic cancer.
  4. Distinguish the patients for whom pancreatic cancer screening is currently recommended.
  5. Describe the variety of endoscopic approached to the ampulla and how to approach difficult polyps.
  6. Define the presentation patterns of choledochal cysts and the outcomes of their surgical management.
  7. Categorize the role of surgical and percutaneous interventions in the management of pancreatic body tumors involving the celiac axis.
  8. Identify the roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team involved in the collaborative care of patients with pancreatic cancer.
  9. Integrate a team-based approach in the care of patients with pancreatic cancer.
