Overview

Online registration is now closed.

We will start on-site registration at 7:00 am.

If you have a question about your current registration, please call us at (202) 780-1655 before 2:00 pm on Friday, March 22, 2019.

The program aims to provide an overview of genomic medicine and pharmacogenetics, review specialties where advancements in pharmacogenetics can improve the quality of care, and offer perspective from leading experts in how pharmacogenetics can transform clinical practice. Despite patient and clinician interest in genomic medicine, education is often the limiting factor to clinical application. The program will include general concepts necessary for foundational knowledge in genomic medicine. Attendees will be exposed to a variety of use cases for pharmacogenetics (e.g., pain management, psychiatry, cardiology) and molecular tumor profiling in oncology. Case-based discussions will allow practitioners and healthcare professionals to hear and discuss real-world experiences in using pharmacogenetics in the daily practice of medicine.

Target Audience:

This conference is intended for primary care providers, family practitioners, oncologists, psychiatrists, cardiologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and all other members of the healthcare team interested in pharmacogenomics.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity the learner will be able to:

  1. Summarize foundational concepts related to genomic medicine and pharmacogenetics
  2. Identify key resources for the clinical application of pharmacogenetics
  3. Recognize that evidence levels vary between different drug-gene pairs
  4. Identify clinical scenarios where a genetic result can guide therapy
  5. Explain how pharmacogenetic results can be used in prescribing decisions

Registration

Physician: $125
Resident/Fellow: $99
Physician Assistant: $99
Nurse Practitioner: $99
Pharmacist: $99
