Overview
Online registration is now closed.

We will start on-site registration Friday, May 3rd at 7:00 am.

This symposium is organized to provide an overview of recent updates and discuss practical issues surrounding the provision of state-of-the-art stroke care. Through formal lectures, case presentations, and interactive sessions, this comprehensive stroke conference will explore critical issues surrounding the assessment, management, and prognosis of stroke in the acute, sub-acute, and non-acute settings.

Objectives
Upon completion the learner will:

  1. Identify strategies to streamline early stroke identification (pre-hospital/hospital)
  2. Describe the most import acute brain and vessel imaging modalities e.g. CT/CTA, MRI/MRA, and conventional angiography, along with the benefits, risks, and limitations of each
  3. Describe appropriate acute stroke intervention protocols for thrombolysis and embolectomy
  4. Design and develop appropriate policies to rapidly and appropriately transfer patients to Comprehensive Stroke Centers for a higher level of care, acute interventions or clinical trials if available
  5. Discuss the management of patients post-thrombolysis or with cerebral edema, hemorrhage, or other complications from acute interventions
  6. Describe best practices in transition of care from the acute hospital to rehabilitation, home, or other appropriate levels of longer term care
