The 14th Biennial Thyroid Update will be held as an in-person event. We are delighted to bring you updates in thyroid conditions such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancers. This program aims to clarify the important issues surrounding the diagnosis and management of thyroid disorders, including thyroid nodules, well-differentiated thyroid cancer, medullary thyroid cancer and anaplastic thyroid cancer. The conference will focus on new approaches which include identifying patients who are candidates for re-differentiation therapy for papillary thyroid cancer and the monitoring of select patients with papillary thyroid cancer who have not had thyroid surgery. This conference will encourage the use of a multidisciplinary approach to educate clinicians about current and controversial issues in thyroid disease and will provide an opportunity for providers to become familiar with the key elements of the updated guidelines and incorporate them into their clinical practice.

Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Evaluate and compare the available molecular tests for thyroid nodules to determine which patients require thyroid surgery and which patients can be monitored.
  2. Identify the cardiovascular risks associated with subclinical thyroid disease.
  3. Identify the appropriate patients for radioactive iodine therapy in thyroid cancer patients.
  4. Incorporate an interdisciplinary approach to the epidemiology and management of thyroid disease and cardiovascular risk.
  5. Evaluate and select agents for the treatment and redifferentiation of locally advanced or metastatic thyroid cancer refractory to radioiodine therapy.
  6. Identify the roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team involved in the collaborative care of patients with thyroid cancer.
  7. Integrate a team-based approach in the care of patients with thyroid cancer.
  8. Utilize stratified risk assessment for thyroid cancer.
  9. Implement American Thyroid Association Guideline for the evaluation and management of hyperthyroidism.
  10. Identify proper thyroid cancer patient selection for monitoring, lobectomy, or total thyroidectomy.
  11. Implement American Thyroid Association Guideline recommendations for evaluation and management of thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer.
  12. Evaluate when to use tissue genotyping in the management of advanced thyroid cancer.

Registration
  • Physician $275
  • Resident or Fellow $150
  • Physician Assistant $175
  • Nurse Practitioner $175
  • Nurse $175
  • Pharmacist $175
  • Allied Health Professional $175
