 Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a chronic disorder of the intestinal tract that affects an estimated 1.4 million Americans. Over the past 10 years, the field of Inflammatory Bowel Disease has changed dramatically. Practice gaps exist because learners currently require updates on the multiple therapeutic options in IBD. MedStar Health's goals in partnership with Northwestern Medicine, are to provide a high level educational program to highlight IBD expertise across the country. Join us the Friday of Digestive Disease Week in D.C.!

Objectives

  1. Identify and discuss new advances in IBD treatment.
  2. Review the current standard of care for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and discuss new recommendations for care.
  3. Explain perioperative management from a nutrition and medication perspective.

  5. Identify the roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team involved in the collaborative care of patients with IBD.
